Mission
Liangshan county of Western China has seen major problems with poverty, drug use and AIDS. Many children have become orphans after losing parents to these problems. Below are brief descriptions of some children whom JOH supports.
The first 3 children listed below live in this house. Wind and rain enter the house through cracks in the walls.
Within this pit-like dent in the ground, the orphans start fires to cook food and heat the house.

She is a very good student and helps her classmates and teacher in school.

Her father has passed away and her mother is in prison.

Age: 7 Grade: 3rd
After she was born, her mother disappeared and she is now living with her father. They don't own a house and are renting one at the moment. She has never worn new clothing, however she is very smart and is very social. Her grades are also very good

Age: 8 Grade: 2nd
He has only two other relatives, his grandma and his dad. The three of them share one room in a very old house. His mom left the family when he was a little baby. He is eager to learn and have a good education.

Age: 12 Grade: 6th
She has 6 sisters. Her father suffers from severe rheumatism. Her family relies on her mother's low income. It is not easy and the burden is heavy. However, she is still an excellent student in her class. She always helps her family after school.

Age: 10 Grade: 4th
She has three 3 older brothers and is the youngest child in her family. All year round, her parents work very far away from her hometown. She has to stay at her grandmother's house. She is very sweet and kind, and eager to learn at school.

Age: 11 Grade: 5th
She is the oldest out of her 3 siblings. Her father passed away when she was little, so her mother works far away from her hometown all year round to provide for the family. She and her siblings have to stay with her grandmother. Xiaomei has shown excellent academic performance in her class.
唐永杰
Age: 15 Grade: 9th
His grandmother and father are both mentally ill; his father spends long periods of time in the hospital. His mother left a long time ago and her whereabouts are unknown, and the primary source of income is all on his grandfather.

Age: 13 Grade: 7th
His father passed away during his early years. His mother works hard to support him and his two siblings. He knows that if he works hard enough, he'll be able to dig himself out of the hardship that his mother faces and provide for his siblings. He is ranked second in his class and second in his grade.
曲比以果
Age: 17 Grade: 9th
Both of his parents are in their 50's with serious physical disabilities. They have a lot of debt that he studies hard to repay, and he also studies for the future of his little sister. Ranked second in his class and 4th in his grade, he is touted by his school as one of its top 3 students.

Age: 15 Grade: 8th
He works very hard in order to support his family in the future. His parents are very ill and frail, and one of his sisters is severely disabled. Both of her legs are mangled, and she cannot walk. They have no source of income, and the only time when they get money in order to pay for his studies is during the holidays, during which they sell a little bit of food. These funds barely eke out enough money to pay for his studies. He works hard and brings in excellent grades.

She is ranked the top student at her school. Her three older siblings all left for college. Her dad’s left eye is blind because of the car accident, so he struggles to find work. Her family depends on her mom to make income.

She is an excellent student in her grade and has won many awards. She has one older sister in high school. She is very enthusiastic about learning. Her dad works very hard to support her family.

Age: 15 Grade: 8th
He has a younger brother. His mom is a single mother who has to take of her two kids and parents. All of his family’s income depends on his mom’s job. However, he is a good student and works very hard.
底紫星
Age: 16 Grade: 8th
She has a younger sister. Her dad lost his primary job and has to work many part time jobs. Her mom’s health has been deteriorating for a long time. Due to her family’s financial issues, they cannot afford her mother’s medical bills. Her family also looks after her grandparents. Despite the hardships she is going through, she is one of the top students in her grade.

Age: 14 Grade: 7th
He has three siblings. Only his dad has a temporary job to support the whole family, including his grandparents. He is a very hard-working student and wants an education to better his family’s situation.

Age: 10 Grade: 5th
She lives with her ill father and blind uncle. Her mother and her brother are all out working and she hasn't had any contact with them for several years. She loves to learn.
